South Lakes Federation

QES is a member of the South Lakes Federation (SLF), which is a collaboration of eight secondary schools and two special schools plus a further and higher education college and the recently formed University of Cumbria .

SLF was formed to bring benefits for students and staff, such as:

• Professional development for staff in schools
• Broadening and improving 11-19 provision
• Broadening and enriching the experience for students
• Improving the achievement of students

The federation has become a limited company in order to manage its collaborative activity more efficiently with the board comprising of the heads/principal of each member institution.
