12. Sex Education

Provides an understanding that positive, caring environments are essential for the development of a good self-image and that individuals are in charge of and responsible for their own bodies

Drug Misuse is a considerable threat to individuals, families and wider education. QES recognises the contribution it can make to ensure that pupils are aware of the risks of drug taking

QES is committed to allowing candidates to demonstrate their ability in as wide a range of external examinations as possible and to provide them with a stimulating challenge

19. Policy on Attendance

PRINCIPLE Queen Elizabeth School fully supports the principle that regular school attendance for all pupils on the school register allows them to take full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them and which offer them the means of advancement. All pupils have an equal right to an education and no pupils should be deprived of these educational opportunities by either their own absence or lateness, or that of other pupils.

21. Behaviour Policy

Queen Elizabeth School is committed to the development of a safe, secure, happy community which balances the principles of inclusive learning and the maintenance of clearly understood parameters.

22. Anti-Bullying

Every member of QES has the right to feel secure and happy in school and in journeys to and from school.

23. Smoking

QES has a major role to play in educating children to the dangers of smoking

24. Trip Policy

Every effort is made to ensure that school activities and journeys are available and accessible to all who wish to participate irrespective of special education or medical needs, ethnic origin, sex, religion etc

This policy aims to set out a framework for a clear and consistent assessment of the overall performance of teachers and the headteacher

To encourage pupils to develop the skills, confidence and motivation needed to study effectively on their own

33. Policy for Gifted and Talented Pupils

We recognise that some pupils, who demonstrate exceptional ability well beyond that expected for someone of their age, have particular requirements, and at QES we aim to support those pupils with such exceptional ability to become exceptional learners
